Weekend Quotes

Here are some quotes to start the St. Paddy’s Day weekend off right:

Hunt Greene on Possibilities: “Everything is always impossible before it works. That’s what entrepreneurs are all about – doing what people have told them is impossible.”

Abigail Van Buren on Wisdom: “Wisdom doesn’t automatically come with old age. Nothing does – except wrinkles. It’s true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place.”

Aristotle on Friends: “Misfortune reveals those who are not really friends.”

Helen Keller on Understanding: “The best-educated human being is the one who understands most about the life in which he is placed.”

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Details: “I try to do the right thing at the right time. They may be little things, but usually they make the difference between winning and losing.”

Maya Angelou on Change: “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.”

Mahatma Gandhi on Personal Responsibility: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Aristotle on Work: “All paid jobs absorb and degrade the mind.”

J.M. Barrie on Choices: “Dreams do come true, if we only wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.”

  • did anyone else read these with an Irish persons accent?
or am i just having a blond moment

    • all my accents sound indian for some reason, but ok . . . i’ll say mine was irish too then!

  • Just stop by to congratulate you for the top Technorati ranking as reposted by John Chow.

    • That technorati ranking is complete madness, I currently have the following ranking for one of my blogs:
      # Rank: 2,460 (1,022 links from 808 blogs) What do these numbers mean?
I have no idea but they look fantastic

  • Nice quotes. “All paid jobs absorb and degrade the mind.”
How true this is! Some people are always blinded in the search for more income.

    • But there are ways to generate income that are not jobs as such, if you are paid to do something you enjoy then it is not so degrading, but that is by far the best quote up their IMO.
I think I’m going to have that on my desk somewhere
